This is the day before the day before Thanksgiving, and we have so much to be thankful for! We have a good family and everyone seems healthy and happy! That is good. We all are blessed with good jobs, and we are able to meet our obligations, and that is good. We all enjoy the convenience of phones so we can talk to each other, and that is good. We all have a roof over our heads, and cars to drive, and that is good too!
We have had a good month and warm weather! Ron and Kevin were able to put up some frame work on our shed, and it is looking so good, hopefully on Friday they may even be able to put up some trusses for the roof. We need to get some ply wood but not sure when. They want to go cut Christmas trees this weekend too. That is always a fun!
Emily has had the canning bug this year, and we have canned chicken and jam, and our latest adventure was potatoes. We had 100 pounds of potatoes that Emily got, and so Emily, Amy, Sarah and I spent all day Saturday putting potatoes in jars. Kevin and dad helped too, before they went out to build on the shed. 150 bottles later we were done. I know if you go on Amy's blog she tells the world that I stole her potato peeler, but honestly she lost her and was trying to put claim to mine. I know that they were here last summer and I didn't watch her good enough I guess for now mine is gone. So Saturday we went to the sale of the pans at the grade school and we bought some new peelers. I came home and marked mine right away so we know which one is mine! Good luck stealing this one!
Ron has started making the pies for the feast! He is such a good cook and I am so thankful for him. We have the turkey thawing and will be making rolls for all those left overs! Some of the kids will be here tomorrow night, and I can hardly wait.
Dad remembers going over to Denver one year for Thanksgiving to see his Aunt Joyce. He remembers a real bad snow storm, and that it was very ugly. They had to look out the side windows to see the lines on the road to make sure they were still driving where they should be. There were 10 children in Ron's family, and he was number 5. I think Ron must have helped do the cooking at home, and that is why he is such a good cook.
I remember the bread dough my mom would make in a big Tupperware, and how she would knead that dough and then we would watch for the lid to raise up, and then we would roll the dough out on the table and cut it with an empty tuna can. Then we would use a butter knife and make a small cut in the center of the circle, then take melted butter and with a brush put that butter on the dough circle and then fold the circle in half. Then put that roll in a pan that was greased with butter, and then when the pan was full, we would put more butter on top! Oh they were so good. We do that now and my family just loves them, especially my Emily's Matt. He has taken a lot of ribbing but he is such a good sport, and still comes for those special dinners. Sometimes we make a pan of rolls just for Matt. Love you Matt! I think their little Dylan will be a lot like his dad!
I also remember saving all the ends of bread and old rolls for a week or two before thanks giving so my mom could make dressing to stuff the turkey. I remember grinding that bread and celery and my mom dicing the onions for the dressing, but I don't make my own dressing, we just use stove top. Oh for the smells of Thanksgiving!
Well this is forever long, but I must mention the movie Twilight that a few of us girls went to.
It was a fun night and a good movie. Edward at first was very ugly, but his vampire ways make you fall in love with him at the end. I still think that Jacob is my favorite of the two!
May we all be a little more grateful for the many blessing we enjoy!

Thanks Emily for showing me how to blog, and thanks Amber for getting this going and thanks to Julie, and Amy, and Sarah for adding your touches too!
We did have fun this weekend and it was good to see so many of you and to see the little ones again. How they have all grown! Amber drove up the other weekend for a couple of hours, and it was good to see her, we did miss seeing little Sesha though. It was good too on Wednesday night and Thursday to see Julie. Both Shane and Cody are just working, working, working!
Brian and Melissa came up and they have set a date for April. We are excited to have her join our family, and it was good to see Kevin, Amy and the girls. We got a bed for the spare bedroom, but Maddy and Brookie love to kick Papa Ron out of his bed. He is a good sport about it, and slept on the couch, because Kev and Amy had one bed and Sarah was in the other. Nick was suposed to come up Sat night but had truck trouble. Luckily it was just the fuel filter and not the fuel pump. We had home made chicken noodle soup, and rolls and cinnamon rolls for our lunch on sunday. I think everyone had a good time. I know we did. Thanks to you all again. Dad and I love you all so very much.
Check out my new skills...

Hope all is going well for everyone. Not much to report here. I have been doing some yard work but I have so much more to do. I want to get some bulbs in the ground before winter sets in. Can you believe that it is almost October.... I am getting excited for Halloween. I am going to start decorating my house on October 1st. This will be the first time since I have lived in West Valley that I will really be able to decorate since my landlord doesn't really care what kind of decorations that I put outside. I am excited about that.
Sesha is excited for Halloween too. She wants to go trick or treating as a princess. She isn't sure which one just a princess. So we have been looking at costumes for her but haven't decided on one yet.
Work is going good. We are almost to 4th quarter and that means lots of OT. That will really help with Christmas this year. Santa is starting to really cost allot and I am not sure that I like the idea of paying him so much money.... Well I guess that is what happens when ya have 5 kids and 3 of them TEENAGERS.... UGGGH.
Amy, congrats on your last purchase. I was watching them and they sold out at Walmart and Kmart down here in less than 4 hours. I can't believe that item is so in demand.
Well, as far as Christmas goes this year, I am not sure what everyone has planned. I know that I am going to be working every Sunday from Nov 15 until Feb 1. I would like to do a family to family gift exchange this year. This works best for us. I think we should have like a $50.00 limit and exchange the gifts at a family get together. If we want I can see if I can secure a condo up Park City or Snowbird to have a family get together. If this sounds like something that would work for everyone just let me know and if ya have an idea of a date that would work. Our Family is getting so big that it is hard to get everyone in one of our houses for a sleepover.
Well that is my two cents on the whole Christmas thing. I would like to get the whole family together on a Saturday or Sunday night to go up to Temple Square to see the lights this year. Let me know if this sounds like something everyone is up to.
I am going to close now since Sesha thinks that I need to count with her.
~Love, Amber

Dad is doing much better now and has gone back to work. He gets tired by the end of his work day and usually comes home and has a nap! We are just grateful that everything went so well and that he is back to work.
I am doing good too, and I get tired at the end of my work day too, but I don't have any reason! I sometimes take a nap too!
It was fun to go and watch Ty play soccor the other day, and then to hear that Brooklyn is riding a bike all by herself! wow! how time does fly.
With all the excitement we have not even thought about christmas, and we dont have any plans. I know that dad is looking into having his knees operated on and is just waiting for a return call from the Dr. Hopefully tomorrow. So I will put some thought into it, and if anyone else has any other suggestions then post them on the blog. Maybe with all of our heads together we can come up with a super duper party!
We went to my moms last saturday night for a cookout. The weather was very nice but the flies were so o o o o o bad, and then the smell from the pig farms was so o o o o o overwhelming that it was difficult to enjoy the food. So we went into the house and had a good laugh, if you can imagine me and Evelyn and Ann having a good laugh, and a good visit. They say to tell everyone hello. Julie, Evelyn got her letter about the races and you should see her talk about it. She is so veryexcited.
Best close for now. Our Love to you All. Love Nana and Papa
Hey I know you all don't want to think about Christmas but I was wondering what we are planning for on the gift exchange this year. I would like to do families instead of individuals.
If we have decided let me know and if not maybe we better think about it as Christmas is getting close. :)

It was good to see so many of you at Brooky's party. I took some time on Saturday to go see my sister Dauna, and to get some plants for my yard. She has a nice yard with alot of plants, and her and Richard enjoy the garden. She even has a milk weed in her yard. They are supposed to draw a certain kind of butterfly to the yard. I haven't seen a milk weed for a lot of years. It reminded me of Benson.
We are getting ready for the camp out and so I just wanted to know who is coming and when you are coming. Dad got the trailors water pump fixed and he is trying to fix the door tonight so hopefully we can get it to the camp spot by thursday. Sarah and Nick are coming friday night, and Matt and Em are coming up on Saturday. Nick is going to hall our 4 wheelers up to the camp. Thanks Nick!!!!!
Our grass is looking better in our back yard and our fence does look good. We haven't finished it yet but what else is new. Time just seems to get away from us! Well, let us know when or if you are coming. We love you all and hope to see you all there.
Yesterday Dylan started his new sitter! I was nervous how he would do.. or rather how I would do! It went real well!! I feel so good about where he is and how Merinda is with him. She said how much fun he is.. and asked like every one else if he is really this happy ALL the time!! It made me so proud and YES he really is!! We have been blessed with such a good little guy! He is getting so big and enjoying eating! HE is a PIGGY (just like his Mom)
I hope you are all enjoying these cooler nights!! I know I sure am.. cooler weather means FOOTBALL. Matt has his first game this Thursday! Good luck to him. He thinks they should be pretty good this year. I'm not sure if I have mentioned it or not but Matt was named the Preston J.V. Head Football coach! Congratulations to him!!
We love you all and are so excited for the camp out this weekend! My boss Paul Davis just got back from Alaska and yes he brought all of us back some fresh halibut so I will be bringing some for us to try out!! Love you all

The Beckstead Family
Just wanted to update everyone on what is going on in our family. I just got news that Shelby and Jake are moving to Bonners Ferry, Idaho. They will be leaving in 2 weeks. They are really excited about it. Jake is the most excited because he loves the outdoors and there is more room to roam there. Shelby is excited because she has a lot of friends there.
Yesterday, Sesha and I went and got our hair cut. Shesha held really still and they did a great job. Then she laughed at me getting mine cut. It was fun. Then after that we went and watched Kung Fu Panda. That was a cute show... And guess what! Madagascar 2 is coming out this Winter. We are excited about that.
Well, I would post more but Sesha is getting demanding and she wants to play.
I will post more later.

WOW!
We are enjoying the Olympics in between episodes of Flapjack and Spongebob. It has been tricky but I think that we have a schedule worked out now. We just got done watching Phelps win and she was cheering. "Go guy. You can do it. Get the good. Go guy Go" and she was waving her hands in the air. It was classic. Poor Shane is trying to sleep. Oh well.
Well I am going to close for now because they are doing the ceremony and I want Sesha to see it.

Hello from Nana and Papa
hello everyone,
we have had a hot sunday, and a preview of what the afterlife could be. Hot and sweaty!
Dad and I worked on putting up some of our fence today, and it was very hot. it will sure look good though when it is done. We did not go to stake conference so all our blessings will be canceled for this week.
The camp out we hope will be fun and I am working on getting a map out to everyone. I am so slow so i thought I better get the letter out first. There is a small stream we are hoping to be by so the kids can get wet and maybe catch cold.
Dad went to scout camp this last week and thought he was camping with a bunch of yw and not ym. One kid got mad and started walking home. Dad gave him a half hour and then went after him. It was just enough time for the kid to start walking back to camp. Then the kids were making a torch with their bug repellent and a match. Dad says he is too old to go camping with the scouts anymore.
we did get out back lawn planted and it is turning a nice hint of green. by this time next week we should see a big hint of green, and not just weeds.
We love you all and hope you will all be to our camp out! Love Nana and Papa

Birthdays and Anniversaries
I know I should be more organized and all but life happens while you are making other plans. I have lost all my birthday and anniversary information for everyone. I was wondering if everyone (or if any one knows everyones bdays and anniversaries) could post the birthdays and anniversaries of our family. I am trying to get my calandar marked for next year and the rest of this year. I am going to get better at sendin out cards and such.
So is everyone getting excited for the family campout? I don't know about this. No potties. This is going to be interesting but I am sure it will be fun.
Well I need to get some work done. It seems like it never ends around here. I will post more later when I have more to report.

Busy Busy Busy
We have been very busy. I started a new venture with my sister in law this weekend and I hope that it goes really well for me. She has been selling travel for about a year now and she was getting overwhelmed. She asked Shane and I (mostly me) to help her out with it. So I work all day at Overstock.com and then come home at night and work from home. With any luck I will be able to stay home and work doing this travel. If you want to check it out go to http://stores.ebay.com/Get-A-Vacation_W0QQsspagenameZMEQ3aFQ3aSTQQtZkm
This is the store that we post things on. There are a few vacations that I would like to take myself. Alaska isn't on the list but maybe if I keep at it I will be able to go there next summer. :) We keep adding things. I am pretty stoked about it.
Sorry it has been a day or two since I posted last. I hope everyone is doing great. I am not so sure about all this heat but fall is just around the corner and then dare I say it WINTER!
Amy you did a great job on your post. Your girls are so cute.
Gonna run to be now... Keep Smiling.... ~Amber

Shane and Amber
Shane and I live in West Valley City, UT and have 5 children. I work at Overstock.com and Shane works for All Seasons HVAC. Our oldest Austin lives with us and works with Shane. Sesha, our youngest lives with us and "works" with her friends at Kiddie Kollege. Keirstin lives with her mom in Preston. Shelby and Jake live in Gooding ID with their dad.
Our lives are pretty hectic at times. We had a great summer with all our kids here. Shelby and Jake came down to stay with us on May 31 and they stayed until July 5. Keirtstin came down for a couple of weekends. We spent most of our summer in the sun. We got "FRIED" at Utah Lake on Fathers day weekend. Sunscreen was a wonderful invention, but only if you actually put it on. Sesha was the only one that didn't get sunburned. We had waverunners and played all day. The kids had a blast.
Then the Lagoon trips started. We bought season passes and boy did we have fun. Some of the rides were very bonding rides. Shelby couldn't hear for the rest of the night after we took Kevin and Amy on Wicked. But, sorry Amy, we are still laughing about that day at Lagoon. (the carts don't just come undone on the fire dragon).
